Later, more and more British, American, and Canadian crew members of shot-down aircraft also knocked on the door for help. By then, the Lichtenvoorde resistance had improved its organisation and managed to accommodate all these crew members as well.

Sometimes briefly in a temporary location, after which they were moved to places where they could stay longer. Questions were never asked. When someone was in need, they were simply helped, despite the high risk. Through the so-called Pilotenlijn—a network that helped pilots escape via Lichtenvoorde, Nijmegen, and Maastricht—they were taken to the Belgian border.
